Our History

Thiess Services Pty Ltd has a proud history as one of Australia’s most versatile, innovative and diverse environmental and utilities contracting organisations.

We were first established as a two-member subsidiary division in the late 1980s as parent company Thiess Pty Ltd expanded its operations into the contaminated site remediation sector.

Originally known as Thiess Environmental Services, we changed our name to Thiess Services in 2000 to better reflect our diversity and future focus of the company.

The first contract awarded to Thiess Environmental Services was with Darwin City Council for the development of a landfill site at Shoal Bay. Since then our operations have expanded across sectors including facilities management, waste management, water and wastewater infrastructure, utilities management, electrical infrastructure construction and maintenance, road infrastructure operations and maintenance and telecommunications infrastructure construction and maintenance.
