Having remediated some of Australia’s largest and most polluted sites, Thiess Services has extensive experience in remediating large contaminated brownfield sites in sensitive environments.

Thiess Services involvement in contaminated site remediation began in 1984 with the rehabilitation of the Rum Jungle Uranium Mine in the Northern Territory. Since then we have successfully remediated more than 70 sites across a range of facilities and containment types.

We have completed major remediation projects at gasworks, hydrocarbon and chemical storage depots, defence facilities, nuclear test sites, hazardous waste dumps and landfills, metal and chemical manufacturing sites, tanneries and other industrial manufacturing sites.

Above all else, we understand the importance and complexity of environmental, health and safety issues in remediation projects and apply stringent and uncompromising quality and OH&S systems and controls across all of our projects.
