Where possible, we implement state-of-the-art ReOrganic Energy technology on our engineered landfill sites to collect gas generated by waste decomposition and transfer it to sites where it is used as a fuel source in the generation of “green electricity’’. The ReOrganic Energy® project at Swanbank in Queensland was the second of its kind in Australia, with gas from the landfill replacing some of the coal used at the neighbouring power station.

Thiess Services offers closure and post-closure landfill management services, including the long-term maintenance of former landfill sites.
